The seventh edition of The Cornwall Workshop will be led by internationally celebrated artist Mike Nelson.

The Cornwall Workshop is a weeklong intensive residential workshop for artists, curators and writers, organised by CAST and hosted by Kestle Barton on the Lizard peninsula. It provides a space for discussion, debate and the sharing of ideas and encourages critical feedback and collaboration. The seventh workshop will take place from 8 to 15 March 2024 and will be led by internationally celebrated artist Mike Nelson.

Nelson’s practice comes from a lineage of artists from the twentieth century working predominantly in what was described as the ‘expanded field’ — including performance, installation and Land Art. His work comments on these genres whilst working ‘within’ them.

The workshop will seek to reflect on and immerse participants in these very particular interests and apply them to the history and landscape of Cornwall. As in previous workshops, the week will include walks, talks, screenings and expeditions.

The seventh edition of The Cornwall Workshop is supported by the UK Government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund.
