Make intaglio portraits of friends and family, using a print process employed by artists since the fifteenth century. The studio will be equipped with printing plates, etching tools, artist quality paper and a small press.
Artist printmakers Lucy Grant and Cesca Pease will be on hand to guide you through the process.
The CAST building is open from Wednesday to Saturday, 10am to 4pm with a free exhibition of films showing in the black box screening space. A large camera obscura drawing device has been installed on the CAST Café terrace, for anyone who would like to try making a portrait of a friend or family member using technology employed since the time of Leonardo da Vinci. The Art Studio will also be open between workshops as a space for drawing.
