We are delighted to welcome Andy Holden back to CAST to talk about his recent work.
Andy Holden’s work takes a multitude of forms – large installations or sculptures, long-form videos, animation and music – that oscillate between personal narratives and historical research. He often appears in his own work, as an animated version of himself, as a teenage actor, or in the role of narrator.
Works by Andy Holden, including the film now on show at CAST, were exhibited in the 2022 edition of the British Art Show. In 2017 Holden collaborated with his father, the ornithologist Peter Holden, on the exhibition Natural Selection, commissioned by Artangel and shown at CAST as part of Groundwork in 2018. In 2019 Holden returned to CAST to lead the fifth Cornwall Workshop, an intensive residential workshop for artists, curators and writers.
