This one-day workshop looks at the development of early photography and its relationship with portrait painting, and explores some of the key ideas found in contemporary photographic practice. The day will include an opportunity to make a portrait using a large format camera. The resulting black and white paper negatives and prints will be processed at CAST and available to take away.

This workshop has been organised for students from local colleges and schools, but a few individual places may be available. If you are a young person aged 16+ or know a young person locally who would like to take part please email [email protected]  for details. Students from Falmouth University’s Department of Photography will be participating so this is also an opportunity to learn informally about studying photography at university.
