We are delighted to welcome Lissette Jiménez Díaz to CAST for a month-long residency, starting on Monday 2 June and running until Monday 30 June.
Lissette’s work investigates relationships with place. She has a particular interest in museum objects and archaeological sites and is keen to explore Cornwall’s ancient history and geology during her time at CAST. Her work involves photography, video and installation. Visit her website here.
In 2020 generous support from Art Fund allowed us to develop CAST’s first venture in hosting international residencies, an exchange partnership between CAST in Helston and the Centro de las Artes de San Agustín Etla (CaSa) in Oaxaca, Mexico. CAST studio artist Nicola Bealing initiated the exchange, with a residency at CaSa just before the beginning of the pandemic. Her report on the experience can be read here. Artist Santiago Rojo then visited from CaSa in June 2023, supported by Sistema de Apoyos a la Creación y Proyectos Culturales (SACPC) from the Secretaría de Cultura, Mexico.
