In connection with her films currently on show at CAST, Margaret Salmon will run Ecological Affection: a workshop on embodied observational methods. Margaret will discuss ways of being in and reflecting on the natural world through responsive, observation-based making – in moving images, photography, drawing and sound recording: ‘The workshop will provide an opportunity to consider and try out a range of methods to connect to our own bodies and political consciousnesses in relation to the environment we are documenting, focusing on breathing, ecological impact, social bias and physical proximity/distance to ‘wild’ organisms.’
Participants will be invited to bring their own observational tool of choice (camera, sketchbook, sound recorder, etc).
