The celebrated British artist Mike Nelson will be joined by artist Andy Parker for a conversation on topics including Nelson’s most recent work, Un Intruso (uninvited, into chaos), made this summer for Manifesta 15.
Nelson and Parker met at the seventh Cornwall Workshop, led by Nelson and organised by CAST earlier this year.They share an interest in industrial pasts, international trade and politics and will talk in depth about ideas behind Nelson’s work.
Mike Nelson is currently undertaking a residency at Anchor Studio in Newlyn. We are delighted that this provides the opportunity for him to return to CAST.
This activity is part of Golden October, a weekend of creativity celebrating the renewal of CAST’s roofs. This significant programme of work, along with many of CAST’s learning activities during 2023 and 2024, has been made possible by funding by the UK Government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund. Some renovations will continue through the winter months, but, at this important milestone, we want to invite the whole community to celebrate and enjoy the fruits of the investment in this special heritage building – a place for art, culture and learning that is open to all.
