All the artists who have studios in the CAST building open their workspaces to visitors once a year.
This is a rare opportunity to visit individual studios. CAST will also be screening excerpts from a fascinating new documentary by filmmaker Huw Wahl, about his father, the artist Ken Turner. Turner was one of the founders of Action Space, a group based in London, who made inflatable structures that could be explored by adults and children alike. The members of Action Space were pioneers in providing active and creative play structures to bring new experiences to children in deprived inner urban areas. Through archival footage, the film captures the utopian spirit of their work in the late sixties and early seventies.
CAST Café will be open on both days, offering savoury treats and sweets.
