Penryn Flyover, courtesy Robin Dowell

Robin Dowell and James Fergusson are looking for people to trial a field trip around lesser known areas of Penryn. Penryn is a town undergoing rapid change. Through a collaborative reading of historical, ecological and cultural artefacts, the aim is to develop an enhanced understanding of a topography which reflects pressures felt in many areas of Cornwall. Discussion during the day and feedback from participants will contribute to the development of the field trip.

The field trip will take place on Sunday 10 December. The proposed route is approximately 4.5 miles and the walk will take three to four hours. The terrain is varied and participants will need to be physically able, with suitable clothing and footwear. Participants should bring a packed lunch.

There are a limited number of places. If you are interested in participating please email Robin: [email protected]

This field trip is being developed as part of the Groundwork programme, a three-year project bringing outstanding art and artists to Cornwall, supported by Arts Council England. Field trips and workshops during 2016 and 2017 are building towards a high-profile programme of commissions and sited work in 2018.
