The Story Republic will lead special story making sessions for children and families. The Story Republic organise exciting events and installations to delight and inspire audiences through the wonder of the written word. They will lead special sessions at CAST on Wednesday 15 and Wednesday 22 August as part of the Lightbox festival of free activity and entertainment for children and families.
Little Story Seekers
From 10am to 11am join Little Story Seekers for an hour of story, song and movement for very young children based on story books and well known songs. Suitable for two to five-year-olds and their parents or carers. Younger siblings are welcome! Free admission, no booking required.
Story Adventurers
From 11.30am to 1.30pm join the Story Adventurers in a tale of exploration. Taking a well-known children’s story, workshop leaders and performers Jo Lumber and Connie Crosby will guide and inspire children to create their own stories through a mixture of writing, drama and making. Suitable for five to eight-year-olds, children should be accompanied by an adult. Free admission, booking required via the Cornish Riviera Box Office.
The Lightbox festival is funded by the Garcia Family Foundation, Feast, Little Parc Owles Trust and Arts Council England and is part of Groundwork, a season of exhibitions and events in special locations across Cornwall, organised by CAST in partnership with Newlyn Art Gallery & The Exchange, Kestle Barton and Tate St Ives. Lightbox is created by Lucy Grant of Heads & Hands, commissioned by CAST and hosted by CAST and Helston Museum.
