How do CAST evening events work?

CAST Café opens its doors to begin serving supper from 6pm, which is a dish of something savoury followed by a small ‘something sweet’. These suppers are vegetarian, with vegan and gluten free options. If you have any other dietary concerns, please email the Café when you book and they will advise if it is possible to accommodate these within the set menu: [email protected].

There is a pay bar for drinks and it is possible to take drinks through into the black box. Food is eaten in the Café and, on sunny evenings, on the terrace. On particularly busy evenings our learning space, Studio 4, is used as well. Pudding is served once everyone has been served their first course, and after supper everyone begins to make their way down the corridor to the screening space.

The event begins once everyone has moved through to the screening space from the Café, generally around 7.15pm. Events do not have a fixed end time.

 

How accessible is CAST?

The ground floor of the CAST building – where all our evening events take place – is wheelchair accessible, with accessible toilet facilities.

Wheelchair users are best to park on the Penrose Road side of the building (rather than in the Wendron Street car park, from which there is no step-free access direct to the CAST building). CAST can usually make arrangements for visitors with limited mobility to park on CAST’s driveway on Penrose Road. Please get in contact (details below) if you would like us to arrange this. Alternatively, blue badge holders can park on Penrose Road and make their way up the sloped driveway to the entrance.

CAST toilets are gender neutral, with two wheelchair accessible toilets on the ground floor and baby changing facilities in the toilet nearest the Café.

Do I have to have dinner or can I just come for the talk?

For artists’ talks and some other events there are a small number of £5 tickets available without dinner included. These can be booked through CAST’s website.

 

Do I need to bring a ticket with me?

You do not need to bring a ticket with you. We will have a list of bookings on the door.

 

If I can no longer attend, can I get a refund?

We can issue full refunds for cancelled tickets until 48 hours before the event begins.
