In spring 2025 the Saturday Art Club worked with Sarah Fassnidge and Bridie Maddocks from Clay Trap, the open-access ceramics studio for learning, experimentation and creativity, based at CAST.
Sarah and Bridie shared skills and instruction enabling Art Club members to create their own tiles and to experiment with a range of surface design techniques, including carving, stencilling, marbling, painting with slips, and hand building to add 3D elements.
The resulting tiles were glazed and fired at Clay Trap for the young people to take away and enjoy.
