CAST is committed to providing opportunities for young people to experience art and culture. We work with local educational organisations including Helston Community College, Mullion School, Cornwall College, Truro College and Falmouth University.

Since May 2021, CAST has run a Saturday Art Club for young people aged twelve to sixteen, working with a wide range of Cornwall-based artists. CAST also hosts group visits for schools and colleges, providing opportunities to meet studio artists in their work spaces and to participate in dedicated workshop activities.

CAST is proud to provide student residencies in partnership with Falmouth University.

If you are a teacher, youth group leader or lecturer interested in working with CAST please get in touch.

The Saturday Art Club began in May 2021 with a pilot programme of six art sessions, thanks to support from the Garcia Family Foundation. These initial sessions ran from May to July and proved so successful that a second pilot was run in September and October 2021. In November 2021 funding from Arts Council England was secured, which enabled the programme to continue in 2022/3. In 2023/4 and 2024/5, the Saturday Art Club was part of a larger programme of activities supported by the UK Government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund. With this support, the capacity of the club doubled in October 2024. Saturday Art Club sessions are currently supported by the Tanner Phoenix Fund at the Cornwall Community Foundation.
