Led by photographer and lecturer Colin Robins, with assistance from photography tutor Will Teakle, this one-day workshop focused on the development of early photography and its relationship with portrait painting, also exploring some of the key ideas found in contemporary photographic practice.

Young people from Helston Community College, Mullion School and the Saturday Club in Truro, were joined by students from Falmouth University’s BA Photography course. The day’s activities included an opportunity to make a portrait using a 10×8 large format camera. The resulting black and white direct positive photographs were processed at CAST and available for participants to take away.
